This 8-country around the world adventure takes children to Australia, Thailand, Japan, Italy, France, Tanzania, Mexico, and Peru where they can learn about the world’s many different cultures while experiencing the joy and magic of travel.
This is more than just a picture book – the book includes a 9-page educational reference section where children can learn 8 greetings from around the world (in 7 different languages), plus 36 terms including people, places, and things found in Wally’s Around The World Adventure!
Wally The Wandering Wallaby’s Wonders of The World Adventure
In the second book of the series, Wally The Wandering Wallaby takes children to 8 different Wonders of The World including The Great Wally of China, Taj Mahal in India, Petra in Jordan, Chichen Itza in Mexico, Machu Picchu in Peru, Christ The Redeemer in Brazil, Colosseum in Italy, as well as the last Ancient Wonder of The World – The Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt.
The book includes a world map that teaches children about The Gall-Peters Projection map which shows a better representation of the 7 continent’s sizes. For decades, The Mercator Map has been the primary map used to learn about the world, and although the shapes are accurate, the sizes of the continents are not – for example, it makes the entire African continent look smaller than Greenland, when in reality Africa is 14.5 times bigger!
There is also a 9-page educational reference section where children can learn 8 greetings from around the world, plus 29 terms including people, places, and things found in Wally’s Wonders of The World Adventure!

How Wally The Wandering Wallaby Came to be
When my nephew was born in November 2017, I went searching for a children’s picture book that would inspire him from a young age to become curious about the world and its many beautiful cultures.
I imagined handing him a bright and beautifully illustrated picture book telling the story of an adventure around the world. A book that would ignite curiosity and an eagerness to learn about people, places, and food that was different to what he was used to.
Known as “the travel auntie,” I imagined giving him this special book that could inspire him from a young age to develop a connection with travel and the magic it can bring into your life.
In the search for this book I had imagined, I came across kids’ travel atlases, books about airplanes and trains, and some board books that taught children about some places around the world – but she couldn’t find any exciting or inspiring stories about world travel.
So I decided to write one.
Soon Wally The Wandering Wallaby was born – now with two books in the series plus a stuffed animal toy to accompany the books, there are many more exciting things to come for this educational children’s travel brand!
